Labour Day Weekend 2014

Feeling: Photobucket

OH MAN, what a late entry. And it’s going to be a rather long one as well O_O! To make up for it, I shall attempt to squeeze in pictures, but it’s totally pointless because they’re small thanks to my blog layout. WHATEVERRRRR~

SO ON SATURDAY. IT WAS FAN EXPO 8D 8D 8D! I had not gone since…2010? I usually don’t go because I find the anime scene isn’t so big there, and the tickets are up there in price range. Anyway, I didn’t sleep that well the night before but that’s okay! After I made sure I had everything I needed, my dad drove me at around 12:30 to the plaza where I was meeting up with Dreamz (she was finishing up with her doctor’s appointment). I got there a bit early so I just chilled outside looking like a hobo. When she was finished, her dad drove us over to my friend Kendrick’s condo, where Jelee and Adrian would be meeting us as well :D

ONCE EVERYONE ASSEMBLED, I stuffed my face and then Dreamz, Jelee and I changed into our PERFUME 1MM PV OUTFITS MUCH EXCITE VERY COLOUR SO TRIANGLE WOW. Yeah. We then practised dancing haha XD! We even invaded the exercise room because of the long mirrors, which were really useful for our dancing purposes. It was also our first practice actually seeing ourselves! It’s a little creepy watching yourself watch yourself dance. What did I do there.

After a few practice runs and some photos, we all headed down to Finch station (IN COSTUME OF COURSE 8D) and took the subway to Union. A few people were confused about our outfits, but there where more and more cosplayers as we made our way to the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. I was already slowly dying from wearing heels.

When we arrived, and I was already dreading and mentally preparing for it, but it was super humid and sunny outside. I was secretly praying it would thunderstorm and rain so it would cool down, but alas, nine Sickles and a dung bomb, the weather reporter lied. After finding a spot to settle/stand in the shade, I texted a bunch of friends to meet up, but none of us had convention badges, so that was a bit difficult :P I did manage to bump into my friend Philip, though, who I haven’t seen for a good 2 years :) After some photos, Dreamz, Jelee and I did spontaneous dances of Perfume songs, specifically Mirai no Museum and Spending All My Time. We had super fun recording, and even forcing Kendrick and Adrian to join in on a round of Museum no Museum haha, that was entertaining :P Man, dancing in the blazing sun and 37 degree weather do not mix :P I was dying, especially because I had my long hair down. Didn’t want to tie it up because ACCURACY FOR COSPLAY. Yeah. When it finally cooled down, and the sun wasn’t directly above us, we went crazy with photos again 8D I am really grateful for Kendrick and Adrian’s patience *bows down to both of you*

At around 7, we decided it was time to go nom, so we headed to a nearby Marché to fill our tummies :) It was a really pretty and cozy restaurant, but super busy. I waited a good 20 minutes for my pasta, and I felt it was a bit lacking in flavour. My drink was very yummy, though! A nice, fruity blend of kale, apple, and probably 2 more things I forgot. It was also a nice green, which was nice, but also not nice at the same time because green reminds me of work 8D…

Once dinner was over, we all headed back up to Finch for KARAOKE TIMESSSS YEAHHHHH! BUT BEFORE THAT. We stumbled upon some really sweet floor lights, and we all agreed it would make for an epic photo, so yeah, spent a few minutes there posing in the middle of the building and people were staring with their discombobulated faces. We didn’t care, really :P Once that was done, we realized how late it was, and proceeded to make our way back to the subway station.

I would like to take the time now to thank Kendrick for letting me wear his shoes as he walked in his socks. My feet were really hurting me, and I couldn’t walk very fast, and Kendrick was more than happy to lend me his sneakers. THANKS, SERGEANT. YOU GET A RAISE. But yes, because of my super slow walking speed, we arrived later than planned, but still super fun times ensued :D Lots of Backstreet Boys, old love songs, Disney duets, and key changing haha 8D I wish we could have stayed longer, but it was getting late. At around 11:40, Jelee drove me home and I basically collapsed from feet pain.

moar mini us wheeeHere we are enduring the blazing sun and heat wave.

mini us supah awesomeMan, this is epic. Check out the floor lights. Yea.

I obviously slept in on Sunday =w= After a very eventful Fan Expo, Sunday was my day for a nice quiet afternoon tea date with my friends Anna and Julie. I drove down to Anna’s place at around 1:30, and once we were all ready to go Anna’s dad drove us to Finch. We then subwayed to Union and then walked to the Fairmont Royal York Hotel.

It was a nice and cozy little restaurant that we dined in. Not too many people, but I found it a bit too dim. It was 2:45pm, though, so I guess the curtains were closed to hide the supreme sun. We started off with our tea orders, with Anna ordering a fancy Orange Pekoe blend and Julie copying me with Earl Grey :P Can’t go wrong with Earl Grey =w= As for food, we had super yummy mini sandwiches, delicious scones with clotted cream and different jams, swan-shaped cream puffs, macarons, some really yummy fruity mousse, and a really rich chocolate slice of cake. My favourites were the sandwiches and the scones. Scones are slowly climbing up on my list of favourite pastries list 8D

We wanted to take our time with eating, but at around 3:45, we were told that we could have a free tour of the rooftop herb garden, which was at 4pm, so we quickly nommed everything, signed the waivers, and joined the tour, guided by the sous chef :O Wondering how he had the time haha 8D

The herb garden was more herby than I expected. We were a small group, and were warned there would be many bees buzzing around. I was a little nervous, but honestly there were probably 2 bees that even flew close to me. We learned about the different herbs that are grown, completely organic of course, and even got to try some. Julie and Anna tried this leaf thing that I suspected was a variety of horse radish, because apparently it tasted like wasabi. I ate a tiny alpine strawberry for the first time. We wanted to go near the bee hives as well (the hard-working bees produce like 700 pounds of honey per year for the restaurants in the hotel!), but bees were swarming way too hard around them. No matter :P

Once that was done, we just went back to the hotel and took pictures and hobo-ed in the lobby haha 8D Ahhhh air conditioning. At around 6pm, we decided it was time to leave and then we subwayed back to Finch, where we got picked up by Anna’s dad again. Once we got back to Anna’s place, I drove home and relaxed a bit before Andrew arrived at 7:45 and we made our way to Hamilton.

A super duper lazy day. Labour Day. Slept in, ate breakfast. We wanted to go play tennis but seriously the second we were about to leavethe sky began to cry :( It was the storm that was promised on Saturday for Fan Expo I bet. On the bright side, Andrew introduced me to a new anime called Nisekoi. I’m liking it so far, it’s really casual and we watched like 8 episodes. I saw a few more last night, but felt after episode 10 the storyline was dragging a bit. Hopefully it picks up! And hopefully everyone smartens up with their feelings and I don’t want to see any more dense-headed-ness. My English is amazing.

For dinner we went to Swiss Chalet, because we couldn’t really think of anything else haha. After dinner, Andrew drove me to McMaster so I could pick up my 7TH DRAGON HATSUNE MIKU TYPE 2020 FIGURINE WIRUGHIUHWRG. I was supposed to pick it up during Fan Expo, but yes, difficulties. Man, the box is huge! It’s sitting on my table at the moment, and I really want to open it and take a lot of pictures, but but but box pretty yeah don’t wanna open ugh first world problems. Hopefully this gorgeous figurine won’t trigger a new addiction @.@

With my figurine finally picked up, Andrew drove me back to my place. Got home at around 10:30pm because I had an early shift the next morning. I was really dreading working the next day because yeah. 3 days off, not in work mode.

No Game No Life + Canada Day Weekend

Feeling: Photobucket

Secondly, is this an anime post?! No way :O

Actually this is just going to be a few entries in one entry again. Haha, if that even makes sense. I had 3 days off from work, which was SUUPAH AWESOMUUUUU 8D! I’m so lame. My congee is on fire.

On Sunday, Dreamz and Jelee came over for more dance practice times! Super fun, and we perfected and figured out a lot of things. Even did a one shot of the Spring of Life dance without knowing it haha omg that was so terrible but hilarious. We also finalized one of our costumes for next Anime North OH HO HO HO 8D! Jelee’s going to be making all three dress bases for us, she’s so hardcore @.@ And all the details will be done individually I guess. I can’t wait to paint details on because I’m cheap like that 8D While we practised, Adrian updated my computer for me because I was still using the version of Linux from like…2010? 8D IF YOU’RE READING THIS YOU’RE SUCH A PRO HACKER/UPDATER. A thousand thanks!

Once we were all gross and sweaty from practice, the four of us went out for dinner at Go For Tea! Kendrick was kind enough to join us, and as always good noms were had =w= I actually ordered the wrong thing, but that’s my fault. Oh wells. Had lots of fun taking gangster pictures, and Kendrick even brought some of his home-made-egg-less cooking for taste-testing! Super yummy cakes ;w; Wow that was a lot of dashes. I stole 2 boxes 8D

THE NEXT DAY, which was Saturday, I had a date with my friend Julie ( :D Originally we were supposed to meet up at Fairview Mall and subway downtown together but then things happened and there was much confusion and last minute decision making, and in the end my mom dropped me off at Eaton’s and Julie met up with me 20 minutes later. We had a great time shopping around, and I managed to nab 2 Fluttershy plushies for $2 each 8D I KNOW, WHY DID I BUY 2?! I couldn’t resist the deal. There were actually a lot of great deals happening in the mall, and my wallet cried a lot. I also satisfied my mint chocolate ice cream craving. BUT I’M CRAVING IT NOW UGH KILL ME.

For lunch, Julie took me to a Japanese restaurant I’ve never been to before, and I forgot the name because it was too hot and humid that day it fried my brain. I ordered a yummy beef udon, and we shared takoyaki >w< We also had planned to go to an outdoor garden/green house thing, but it was wayyy to hot to do that, so we ventured back to Eaton’s and just spent the rest of the day wandering and enjoying the air conditioning 8D

For dinner, we ate at a restaurant on the upper floor of Eaton’s called Mr. Greenjeans. I ate there once previously with other wifeys and enjoyed my experience, so I thought I’d drag Julie along 8D It’s bigger than it looks, and I love the decor 8D Obviously we both went trigger happy with our cameras 8D We also both ordered pasta, and I had high expectations, but unfortunately it was way too oily. Our appetizer also came after our main, but it was super delicious! I forgot the name, but it was a yummy chips with dip of some sort. After we talked and chilled some more because we were super stuffed, we decided it was finally time to subway back to Fairview, where I was picked up my dad.

Still craving mint chocolate chip ice cream.

YESTERDAY, was CANADA DAY! And Andrew was nice enough to visit even though he knew it was going to be a boring day because nothing was open, and if it was, it would be packed with people (applies to malls and restaurants). Watched a little bit of the World Cup with my dad, and then we watched episodes 6 to 12 of No Game No Life. I had watched 1-5, but then realized my bandwidth was probably dying as I only get 25GB a month, so Andrew suggested he’d download the rest for me on his laptop for me to watch. And omg, it’s such a great anime! I am absolutely in love with the animation style! And the colours! Ughh don’t even get me started. The anime has fan service, but the plot and drawings made me overlook that. I am also really impressed with the voice acting :3 I don’t usually say that, but I’m saying it, so you know I’m serious! I even found my next cosplay! OH HO HO! It shall be interesting. But yes, if you haven’t watched it yet, I recommend it! I really hope there’s a second season!

Jelee and Adrian also paid me a visit at around 3 because I was having internet problems since my laptop was updated. It only took Adrian about 15 minutes to fix the problem, and I really need to treat them both to dinner one day! Many thanks again!

At around 7, Andrew and I went out for dinner with my parents and, yes, we had Japanese food! Hehehehe that was yummy. We originally wanted to go to our usual place (Inatei near Highway 7 and Leslie) but it was actually fully booked, so we went to Izakaya Tsuki, the same place where I had my awesome birthday dinner =w= The food was good, and it wasn’t mad packed, which I liked :) I really like their takoyaki! I’m craving it again ugh D: (but I don’t think takoyaki and mint chocolate ice cream is a good mix) Once dinner was done, it was back to my place! Andrew and I just sat and talked for a bit more and then he left at around 10:45pm.

It was definitely a nice 3 days off =w= Made up for the super busy day at work today =_= And now I shall look up pictures of my potential cosplays BAHAHAHA 8D!

Anime North 2014

Feeling: Photobucket

Woot! Anime North has come and gone by way too quickly once again. Sad face.

I had an awesome time obviously :P More so than last year! I guess it’s because I had more things planned, and my shoes were not as uncomfortable as the ones I wore last year. I cosplayed as Sylveon this year for all three days ^^ I think it’s my most popular one yet 8D Anyway, I will separate this post by the days so it’s more organized.

On Friday my dad drove me and my friend Miss Rushka and dropped us off at around 3:30 so that I could buy some tickets for Cafe Delish! Tickets weren’t being sold until 5 I believe, but I really wanted to buy the special graduation seating tickets (final seating, and longer seating). Anyway, we hurried to get our pre-registered badges (or mine anyway), and then we met up with Aarathi. We then hurried over to the Double Tree hotel (I’m not calling it International Plaza :P) and the three of us just stood in line patiently.

Unfortunately when we finally got to the table selling tickets, the seating that I wanted was sold out ;_; So I told myself that tomorrow I would try again and line up even earlier D< (they were selling half the graduation seating tickets on Friday and the other half on Saturday morning) After that we just wandered around hoping to bump into friends :D I did manage to see a few of my friends, and had lots of fun taking pictures ^_^ When we finally met up with Andrew, we all had a nice lunch/dinner at Milestones. They gave us special “Japanime” menus, which I was sort of offended by, so I asked for the normal menu as well. Anyway, Friday was a short day, and I got picked up at around 9:30 after I met up with AngeL for some pictures. I feel like I’m forgetting a lot of the things that happened…my brain is fried from happiness @.@

Saturday is without a doubt the best day at Anime North :D Ask anyone! It was the longest day and the weather was great. It wasn’t windy and was definitely a lot warmer than Friday. The night before I fixed up my Sylveon ears by adding a ribbon to the headband so it would be tied securely around my head, and that definitely made me less annoyed as well because I didn’t have to keep holding it up :)

Anyway, I asked my dad to drive me to Anime North earlier because I needed to buy Cafe Delish tickets! Specifically ones for the final seating! I had spoken to Jelee and Ivana and Aarathi about going early as well to buy tickets (apparently each person could only by 2 tickets, I couldn’t buy them all for my friends). Luckily, I met up with Kendrick, Jelee, Adrian and Ivana, and they were FIRST IN LINE, so the day was good haha. It was around 9:45am, and the tickets weren’t being sold until 11:30am, so we were super early! After a few minutes though the line started to get long, so lucky us! :D We all had a fun time talking to pass the time. At around 10, Jelee went to audition for J-Idol, and Adrian even got a chance to play a game of Go haha XD! A few of our cosplay friends also passed by for a small chat.

It was 11:40am before the dude selling tickets finally decided he would start selling the tickets =.= But YAY TICKETS SECURED WOOOOOT! Yeah, in total we nabbed 7 of the 20 graduation seating tickets hmm 8D After that, it was just super chill times. We went and bought some food because we were starving, and then just wandered around the convention. At 1pm, we all went to watch the J-Idol competition, and my personal favourite contestant won! She had a great voice and wonderful stage presence :) Jacky also finally found us, and we all just continued to wander around, waiting eagerly for the final maid cafe seating at 5:20.

At around 4:50, we started to make our way to line up for the MAID CAFE YAYYYY! I’ve served as a maid before for my Japanese club events at university, but I’ve never been a customer, so I was excited :) We were all seated at table number 1, so we were first to go inside the pretty terrace ^.^

The maid cafe was very nice :) It was $30 for a 100 minute seating (as opposed to the normal $20 for 45 minutes), and we were served our choice of beverage (I picked Earl Grey, and there was also free refills), a variety of fruits, a snack bento, and a cupcake for dessert. We also each had a box of Pocky, which we all shared :P What I liked most was that it was a longer seating and we didn’t have to rush. Of course, we were all there to support AngeL, who was one of the maids ^_^ It was more fun than I expected, and the maids danced and sang, played games with us, and we all could take a Polaroid with our maid of choice 8D

I have to brag that I made it to the final around of Rock, Paper, Scissors! It was down to me and another guy, and we kept tying but eventually I lost, and I didn’t get to win the poster and have a special picture with all the maids haha. Oh well, it was quite fun :)

After that, AngeL had to help clean up, so Jelee, Adrian and I went outside to take some pretty photos :D Jelee and Adrian were cosplaying as PRINCESS ANNA AND PRINCE HANS FROM FROZEN so obviously I had to go trigger-happy on them 8D Huhuhu 8D

Saturday was a good day :D Even though I still didn’t go inside the dealer’s room yet .___. Wow Saturday’s entry is long haha 8D

AHHH SUNDAY. The day I was dreading yet excited about haha! BECAUSE OF THE POP IDOL DANCE SHOWCASE. But more of that in a bit.

I found out the night before I couldn’t get a ride, so Jelee was kind enough to give me a lift! I woke up early to shower and change into my dance outfit, and was ready to be kidnapped at 8:30am! Jelee was a little behind schedule, and she and Adrian arrived to get me at 9am. Thanks to her speed driving, we arrived at Anime North at 9:30am :D

Soooo the reason we arrived so early was so we could squeeze in some dance practice! Jelee, AngeL (known as Dreamz) and I decided to sign up for the dance showcase happening at 11am, and I was super nervous O_O! We squeezed in a few practices, with Adrian helping with the music, and then we signed in with the staff at 10am. We got to practice on the actual stage once, and then once we figured out our spacing we went to practice some more outside! Our practices were good, but I was getting really bad cramps from nervousness DX! Not sure why I was so nervous. It wasn’t even a competition or anything. AngeL and Jelee were totally fine haha 8D

There was a little bit of a delay, and the show started at around 11:10am! I’m so glad a few of my friends were there in the audience to support us! We were 9th on the list of performers, and I was still nervous as heck in the back watching. I shouldn’t have been so worried, though! I need to learn to relax and just have fun. Our dance was the shortest on the list (2 and a half minutes!) so it was over in no time.

We danced to Mirai no Museum by Perfume! It’s so sweet and catchy ;w; I turned the wrong way in one part of the song, and my legs were super shaky, but I don’t think we did that badly! I’m glad we had matching outfits, and we all had the right hair length to match the original Perfume bahaha 8D! Here’s the link on YouTube if you’re interested: :) When we finished, we went down to the audience, met up with our friends, and then left because we wanted to change into our other cosplays.

BUT BEFORE THAT. Yep, we picked a random spot in a hallway full of people and DANCED THE ROUTINE AGAIN! It was a small space, and our movements had to be “minimized”, but it was great! I hope I get the video file soon hehe XD! We had one guy come and ask if we were professional dancers or something, and asked if we would like to dance at some of his events and clubs, how strange O_o But I’ll take it as a compliment that we danced well :D

Once that was over, a few of us parted ways because we all wanted to do different things. It got a little confusing because there were so many of us and lots of pictures were needed haha 8D I ended up joined Sarah, Andrew, Jelee, Adrian, and their other friends Sarah and Coltin for sushi lunch. Jelee and I then changed into our cosplays, because even though there was only 3 hours left of Anime North, cosplay is a must haha 8D And thank you Adrian for treating us!

Eventually we all bumped into each other again inside the Dealer’s room. I was impressed with how wide the aisles were this year, because the previous years it was difficult to walk in there. I was looking around for more Sylveon plushies, but couldn’t find any. Andrew managed to get a wooden sword for $15, and with 30 minutes to go before the Dealer’s Room closed, I managed to get 2 large Cinnamoroll plushies O_O I actually wanted one last year, but it was $40, and I regretted not buying it after finding out it was being sold for $60+ on Ebay. When I saw 2 of them at a stand right before I was about to leave, each for $30, I tried to bargain for both of them for $50, but the lady was stubborn :P Oh well, I got them both for $30 each, and the cheapest one on Ebay is $35 + $30 shipping, so I feel better about my purchase 8D DON’T JUDGE ME, CINNAMOROLL’S ONE OF MY FAVOURITE SANRIO CHARACTERS DX!

After that, we all met up again outside for more picture! AngeL even had her Polaroid on her, and we took a few of those :) I need to get a Polaroid camera for myself one day! They’re super cute and fun :P

We all wanted to dinner together, but Andrew had to leave because he was exhausted (he was at work at 4am) and Jelee and Adrian had dinner plans with Coltin, so AngeL, Jacky and I went to Moxie’s for dinner! I definitely got stared at as I walked in, because even though restaurants should have been used to all the costumes, I was still the only one there at that time with huge pink bunny ears haha 8D Also, Moxie’s has good food! Our server was super nice (his name was Dragan, pronounced “dragon”, how cool is that?), and was very accommodating. AngeL and I had a fun time cam-whoring in the bathroom as well, because there were very large mirrors 8D

It was around 9 when we left, and I was able to get a lift home! I can’t wait until next Anime North ;_; Le sigh ;_;

Oh, and here’s my Sylveon cosplay ^^ Thank you, AngeL, for the picture 8D

Ripley’s Aquarium + The Distillery District

Currently listening to: —

Feeling: Photobucket

I need to blob! It’s quite late as per usual, but that is okay!

On Sunday, Andrew and I FINALLY WENT TO THE AQUARIUM IN DOWNTOWN TORONTO YAYYYYY! I’ve been meaning to go for…quite a while now, but our schedules just never matched up. Anyway, I was supposed to take the subway down and meet Andrew at Union Station, but my parents decided last minute that they didn’t want me to subway alone, so they dropped me off haha 8D

There was NO TRAFFIC and I got to Union in like…20 minutes? Record I say. I was early so I wandered around and grabbed a banana pecan muffin while waiting for Andrew. After he arrived, we had some trouble looking for the path to lead us to the aquarium (darn you construction! It’s been 872638723 years and you’re still ongoing!) but eventually we got there in one piece XD!

OH. I WAS SO FRIGGEN PISSED. Okay. I brought along my dSRL and I REALIZED WHEN I GOT TO THE RIPLEY’S AQUARIUM SIGN THAT I FORGOT TO CHARGE MY BATTERY WIRUGIUWHRG I was so sad the rest of the day :( Had to make do with my crappy phone camera sighhhhhhh. I definitely need to go back for pictures!

The aquarium itself isn’t really big, and it was SUPER CROWDED thanks to it being the long weekend ._. Luckily Andrew purchased the tickets online and we were able to by-pass through the Anime North-like registration line bahaha 8D Waited 2 minutes to go in.

Best part of the aquarium? Honestly, I can’t explain it. It was like walking through a glass tunnel but all around you are sharks, sting rays and a variety of fish. There was a conveyor belt moving people slowly along so you could just stand there and look up as you passed by. Super neat and cool. Saw 2 derpy sharks just chilling on top of the glass tank haha 8D!

Didn’t spend too long in the aquarium, maybe a little over 2 hours? We then took a taxi to the Distillery District because there was some art thing happening. Unfortunately for us, it started to rain the minute we got out of the taxi :( Le sigh. So we decided to find a place to nom instead and give the rain some time to pass.

We ate at a restaurant called the Beer Hall. I ordered a yummy barbeque chicken flat bread thing, and Andrew had chicken with…mashed potatoes? I don’t remember, but it was yummy :) The only downside was the wait time for our food was quite long, and it was super loud, but that was likely because of all the people there over the long weekend.

Before we knew it, it was 5:30pm and APPARENTLY THE ART THING WAS SCHEDULED TO CLOSE AT 6 so we quickly asked for the bill and then spent the next 40 minutes-ish exploring the little tents and stalls set up in the area. Most of the tents were selling artsy things like jewellery, candles, and there was even a cool tent selling neat steam-punk inspired jewellery. It’s too bad it was chilly, I think I got the sniffles afterwards.

At around 7, we decided to walk back to Union station instead of taking the taxi (bad idea, super cold), and then Andrew got his GO train ticket and I headed back up to Finch station. A good day, and I will most definitely be going back to the aquarium!

UM UM UM IT’S PAST 10 AND ANIME NORTH IS TOMORROW. I said this already hmmm. Here’s a low-quality selfie of my Sylveon cosplay ^_^! My headband is super heavy because…well because of a variety of factors. My ears are 4 layers of foam, the ribbons are wired, and I don’t have a sewing machine, so everything is held together by glue gun, and yes, glue can get super heavy. I’m totally going to have super steroid neck muscles when Anime North is over 8D

Anime North 2013

Currently listening to: —

Feeling: Photobucket

I can’t believe another Anime North has flown away. I remember last year wasn’t my best experience because I couldn’t finish my intended costume. This year, unfortunately, wasn’t that great either :P I’ve been going since I was in grade 8/2003. Wow. I’m quite the veteran 8D But yeah, nothing really interests me anymore and I mainly go to see my friends and cosplay.

The highlights of this year include the very Canadian weather. Normally it’s extremely hot during Anime North but this year I was freezing my body parts off. Add in the torrential winds and you get a not very happy me walking around. Let’s do some recap for each day.

– It was my last day of TD training, so I went to Anime North right after work. It was casual Friday so I wore half my cosplay (I was being Umbreon, so I wore my black shoes, tights, and skirt) and then changed after work and added the finish touches in the car. Happiness level at 100%

– I left my camera in my dad’s car, called him to come back, took my camera and I was happy. Went trigger happy and then found out I DIDN’T FRIGGEN PUT AN SD CARD IN MY FRIGGEN CAMERA AND MY CAMERA DOESN’T HAVE INTERNAL MEMORY. Happiness level 50%

– It was super duper cold and super duper windy but I didn’t complain too much because I was actually pretty covered and I didn’t have a wig on. Happiness level still 50%

– I lost my con badge like within an hour -_- I borrowed an extra one Jennifer had on hand. Happiness level 10%

– Went to Milestone’s for foodies with Andrew. Had delicious salad. Michelle, Thavisha, and Aarathi came to say hi. Happiness level 50%

– Went to the Nominoichi thing with Andrew and saw things I liked but I decided to save money. Happiness level 55%

– Left at around 9:30 because I thought AngeL would be coming over to finish up our cosplay for Sunday but she got a chance to stay at the hotel :) Slept a little bit earlier. Happiness level 60%

– Woke up early to get my costume ready. Huge eyebags. Coloured in my eyebrows with acrylic paint and they looked pretty decent o.o ENSURED I HAD MY SD CARD IN MY CAMERA. Happiness level 70%

– Arrived at the convention a little before noon. Got out of the car and almost froze to death. Ivana gave me back my blazer from 2387682 years ago. Within 100 feet my feet were in pain from the 6-inch heels. Happiness level 50%

– Met up with Jennifer and took off my shoes. Thought I lost my leg band but I found it. Happiness level 55%

– Went to the Photo Alley to visit AngeL on her shift. Jen and I took pictures with her in the PuriMeido booth :D Happiness level 60%

– Realized I lost my leg band again for good. Happiness level 55%

– AngeL went on break right after and we went and took more pictures secretly 8D Bumped into Christianne as well 8D Happiness level 70%

– Went and cheered for Jennifer because she was a finalist for Anime North Idol! :D Couldn’t take videos for some reason and took some pictures instead. Happiness level 50%

– Went to Kelsey’s for lunch with Andrew, Jen, and Mac. My Caesar salad didn’t have bacon. Happiness level 45%

– Michelle, Thavisha, Christina, and James came to say hi :D Took some pictures. Happiness level 60%

– Mad hurried in the morning to get everything ready. I had to bring AngeL her costume and various things because she stayed over at the hotel the night before. Had some trouble getting my “headphones” to stay on just like last year. Happiness level 70%

– Forgot Whitney’s hairspray and safety pins. Went back to get them. Happiness level 60%

– Met up with Aarathi and ran to see AngeL sub in for some dance showcase performance. She performed Gee by SNSD after only a few hours of practice! Happiness level 70%

– Went to help AngeL change into her Magnet Luka cosplay! She’s now a pair with meeeeeee 8D (I was being Magnet Miku) Happiness level 80%

– Met up with Michelle, Thavisha, and James so AngeL could put her luggage into Thavisha’s car. Finally went into the Dealer’s Room and met up with Andrew. Happiness level 90%

– Realized I lost my camera lens cap. Sigh. AngeL said we could go back to look for it but I knew all hope was lost. Happiness level 50%

– Continued walking around the Dealer’s Room. Saw many Arpacasso plushies I wanted at sky-high prices. Tried to haggle with a lady for an adorable Cinnamoroll plushie but she refused :( Andrew managed to buy some pins and his Spice and Wolf light novel. I didn’t buy anything and saved money. Happiness level 60%

– Went to nom at Harvey’s and shared a poutine with AngeL. Took us a while to get there because photos happened. The weather was slowly getting warmer but it was still windy. Michelle and Thavisha got to Harvey’s before us 8D Happiness level 65%

– Went back to look for my camera lens but couldn’t find it. Decided to chill at the Double Tree. Jennifer and Mac came and we took many pictures and then Andrew had to leave because he had an appointment with someone. Then Michelle, Thavisha and James joined us and more pictures ensued. Happiness level 70%

So in summary, Anime North 2013 was okay. I would have had a blast if I didn’t lose so many things. On the bright side I didn’t spend any money. A huge thank you to Andrew for being my holder for everything during the weekend :P

Iron Man 2 + Cosplay Plans

Welp, mom’s calling me for dinner so let’s see how fast I can type.

Yesterday (or rather, Tuesday night) I went to freeload at Andrew’s place. Took the 8:30 GO bus and got picked up at around 10. Once we got back to Andrew’s place I demanded we watch an episode of Once Upon A Time haha XD! Andrew apparently caught up and I believe we watched episode 11 of the second season together. Omggggggg it was a good episode until the end T_T! I don’t even feel like watching any more episodes now after what happened to Belle :(

After that we just chilled in the basement because I refused to play Kinect with Andrew haha :P And of course I stole his bed to sleep while he slept on the couch. Woke up quite early the next morning because his parents were being louder than usual. I think we were out of bed at around…hmm I’ll say noon. I then showered and Andrew made me waffles :D And then we watched Iron Man 2 XD! Andrew previously told me that Iron Man 2 was bad, but when he watched it again he said it was better than the 1st one. I only want to watch it because I want to see Iron Man 3 haha XD!

But yea, I didn’t think Iron Man 2 was too terrible. I did think it was…a little anticlimactic. A lot of the things I expected to happen/go wrong didn’t happen/didn’t go wrong and I don’t know (for example I thought there would be ramifications when he stuffed his new element core into his chest but nope, guess it was perfectly fine even though they didn’t finish analysing it. I also thought it was weird how he never figured out how to slow down the toxin levels in his blood despite his genius, but one needle to the neck by Black Widow suddenly made him feel great.) The movie went too smoothly if that makes sense haha XD! Iron Man has such an ego in this movie, though :P It was definitely a lot less scary than the first one for me so that’s good.

Hmm what happened after the movie…*ponders* I think I fell asleep haha! Andrew took a little nap as well, and then when we were up we went to get water bottles for Andrew’s mom then had dinner at Montana’s. Didn’t like my meal too much despite having it twice before at the Montana’s outside my house. They made it wayyy too watery (I ordered the Smoky Bacon Mac and Cheese). Andrew apparently liked his burger and even had enough stomach to order dessert, which was quite yummy but terribly bad for you :D

I believe it was around 9:15 when we finished dinner, and then after Andrew got gas he drove me home. Got back to my place at around 10:45 and to my pleasant surprise my gift for my mom (for Mother’s Day) arrived haha. I got her a Laduree T-Shirt :3 But apparently it’s not big enough despite me getting extra large hmm :/

OH OH OH I FINISHED MY COSPLAY TODAY WIRUGHIUWHRG. AHHHHHHHHHHH I started working on it LAST YEAR. I gave up on it after I couldn’t attend Fan Expo but yessssss it is like 99.99999% finished. Just some minor tweaks needed. I’m being Miku from 7th Dragon 2020 teehee XD! I like her butt cape or whatever it’s called. It’s too bad I have TD training on the Friday of Anime North. Hopefully I’ll be able to attend the con for a few hours after. I really want to wear my cosplay for more than one day after slaving away on it (contrary to popular belief I do not have a sewing machine or an iron so everything’s glue-gunned into place/hand sewn), and on Sunday I’m being Magnet Miku for a Vocaloid group with AngeL and Jennifer :) Bahahaha I need to practice wearing my 6-inch heels O_O I’m gonna be the next CN Tower.

Fantastic Mr. Fox

Mwap. Mwack.

I just got back from DT for my TD documentation thinger. It went smoothly. It was stressing me out because I had to print out many forms and fill them in and read like 28736823 PDF files (which I obviously didn’t). I took the GO train with AngeL this morning and she saved my life by bringing me to the building so I wouldn’t get lost. DT confuses me. These abbreviations are confusing me.

But the main point of this blog is to tell you how wonderful I am. *cough* I mean, how wonderful Andrew is! He came over on Thursday to visit and we OBVIOUSLY WATCHED AN EPISODE OF ONCE UPON A TIME, but he also showed me a movie called Fantastic Mr. Fox. Haha, I didn’t really want to watch it at first because it sounded weird, and Andrew did say it was strange, but I surprisingly liked it. I think if I watched it again I’d catch more of the jokes. Apparently it lost to UP during the Oscar’s or something? But yeah, not your usual animated film. If you like strange animations, I suggest this one.

Ummmmmm…what to blob about…hmm. OMG ANIME NORTH IS IN LESS THAN A MONTH. AND I’M STILL NOT DONE MY COSTUME. I’ve been working on my costume on and off since the summer of last year. What. Yea. Maybe it’s time I invested on a sewing machine. But umm, if you’re going to Anime North, which days are you going and what will you be cosplaying as? I’m planning Magnet Miku with my friends, and then Miku 7th Dragon 2020 version for Saturday/Sunday. I’m really hoping I’m able to get the weekend off from both my jobs O_O
