Labour Day Weekend 2014

Feeling: Photobucket

OH MAN, what a late entry. And it’s going to be a rather long one as well O_O! To make up for it, I shall attempt to squeeze in pictures, but it’s totally pointless because they’re small thanks to my blog layout. WHATEVERRRRR~

SO ON SATURDAY. IT WAS FAN EXPO 8D 8D 8D! I had not gone since…2010? I usually don’t go because I find the anime scene isn’t so big there, and the tickets are up there in price range. Anyway, I didn’t sleep that well the night before but that’s okay! After I made sure I had everything I needed, my dad drove me at around 12:30 to the plaza where I was meeting up with Dreamz (she was finishing up with her doctor’s appointment). I got there a bit early so I just chilled outside looking like a hobo. When she was finished, her dad drove us over to my friend Kendrick’s condo, where Jelee and Adrian would be meeting us as well :D

ONCE EVERYONE ASSEMBLED, I stuffed my face and then Dreamz, Jelee and I changed into our PERFUME 1MM PV OUTFITS MUCH EXCITE VERY COLOUR SO TRIANGLE WOW. Yeah. We then practised dancing haha XD! We even invaded the exercise room because of the long mirrors, which were really useful for our dancing purposes. It was also our first practice actually seeing ourselves! It’s a little creepy watching yourself watch yourself dance. What did I do there.

After a few practice runs and some photos, we all headed down to Finch station (IN COSTUME OF COURSE 8D) and took the subway to Union. A few people were confused about our outfits, but there where more and more cosplayers as we made our way to the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. I was already slowly dying from wearing heels.

When we arrived, and I was already dreading and mentally preparing for it, but it was super humid and sunny outside. I was secretly praying it would thunderstorm and rain so it would cool down, but alas, nine Sickles and a dung bomb, the weather reporter lied. After finding a spot to settle/stand in the shade, I texted a bunch of friends to meet up, but none of us had convention badges, so that was a bit difficult :P I did manage to bump into my friend Philip, though, who I haven’t seen for a good 2 years :) After some photos, Dreamz, Jelee and I did spontaneous dances of Perfume songs, specifically Mirai no Museum and Spending All My Time. We had super fun recording, and even forcing Kendrick and Adrian to join in on a round of Museum no Museum haha, that was entertaining :P Man, dancing in the blazing sun and 37 degree weather do not mix :P I was dying, especially because I had my long hair down. Didn’t want to tie it up because ACCURACY FOR COSPLAY. Yeah. When it finally cooled down, and the sun wasn’t directly above us, we went crazy with photos again 8D I am really grateful for Kendrick and Adrian’s patience *bows down to both of you*

At around 7, we decided it was time to go nom, so we headed to a nearby Marché to fill our tummies :) It was a really pretty and cozy restaurant, but super busy. I waited a good 20 minutes for my pasta, and I felt it was a bit lacking in flavour. My drink was very yummy, though! A nice, fruity blend of kale, apple, and probably 2 more things I forgot. It was also a nice green, which was nice, but also not nice at the same time because green reminds me of work 8D…

Once dinner was over, we all headed back up to Finch for KARAOKE TIMESSSS YEAHHHHH! BUT BEFORE THAT. We stumbled upon some really sweet floor lights, and we all agreed it would make for an epic photo, so yeah, spent a few minutes there posing in the middle of the building and people were staring with their discombobulated faces. We didn’t care, really :P Once that was done, we realized how late it was, and proceeded to make our way back to the subway station.

I would like to take the time now to thank Kendrick for letting me wear his shoes as he walked in his socks. My feet were really hurting me, and I couldn’t walk very fast, and Kendrick was more than happy to lend me his sneakers. THANKS, SERGEANT. YOU GET A RAISE. But yes, because of my super slow walking speed, we arrived later than planned, but still super fun times ensued :D Lots of Backstreet Boys, old love songs, Disney duets, and key changing haha 8D I wish we could have stayed longer, but it was getting late. At around 11:40, Jelee drove me home and I basically collapsed from feet pain.

moar mini us wheeeHere we are enduring the blazing sun and heat wave.

mini us supah awesomeMan, this is epic. Check out the floor lights. Yea.

I obviously slept in on Sunday =w= After a very eventful Fan Expo, Sunday was my day for a nice quiet afternoon tea date with my friends Anna and Julie. I drove down to Anna’s place at around 1:30, and once we were all ready to go Anna’s dad drove us to Finch. We then subwayed to Union and then walked to the Fairmont Royal York Hotel.

It was a nice and cozy little restaurant that we dined in. Not too many people, but I found it a bit too dim. It was 2:45pm, though, so I guess the curtains were closed to hide the supreme sun. We started off with our tea orders, with Anna ordering a fancy Orange Pekoe blend and Julie copying me with Earl Grey :P Can’t go wrong with Earl Grey =w= As for food, we had super yummy mini sandwiches, delicious scones with clotted cream and different jams, swan-shaped cream puffs, macarons, some really yummy fruity mousse, and a really rich chocolate slice of cake. My favourites were the sandwiches and the scones. Scones are slowly climbing up on my list of favourite pastries list 8D

We wanted to take our time with eating, but at around 3:45, we were told that we could have a free tour of the rooftop herb garden, which was at 4pm, so we quickly nommed everything, signed the waivers, and joined the tour, guided by the sous chef :O Wondering how he had the time haha 8D

The herb garden was more herby than I expected. We were a small group, and were warned there would be many bees buzzing around. I was a little nervous, but honestly there were probably 2 bees that even flew close to me. We learned about the different herbs that are grown, completely organic of course, and even got to try some. Julie and Anna tried this leaf thing that I suspected was a variety of horse radish, because apparently it tasted like wasabi. I ate a tiny alpine strawberry for the first time. We wanted to go near the bee hives as well (the hard-working bees produce like 700 pounds of honey per year for the restaurants in the hotel!), but bees were swarming way too hard around them. No matter :P

Once that was done, we just went back to the hotel and took pictures and hobo-ed in the lobby haha 8D Ahhhh air conditioning. At around 6pm, we decided it was time to leave and then we subwayed back to Finch, where we got picked up by Anna’s dad again. Once we got back to Anna’s place, I drove home and relaxed a bit before Andrew arrived at 7:45 and we made our way to Hamilton.

A super duper lazy day. Labour Day. Slept in, ate breakfast. We wanted to go play tennis but seriously the second we were about to leavethe sky began to cry :( It was the storm that was promised on Saturday for Fan Expo I bet. On the bright side, Andrew introduced me to a new anime called Nisekoi. I’m liking it so far, it’s really casual and we watched like 8 episodes. I saw a few more last night, but felt after episode 10 the storyline was dragging a bit. Hopefully it picks up! And hopefully everyone smartens up with their feelings and I don’t want to see any more dense-headed-ness. My English is amazing.

For dinner we went to Swiss Chalet, because we couldn’t really think of anything else haha. After dinner, Andrew drove me to McMaster so I could pick up my 7TH DRAGON HATSUNE MIKU TYPE 2020 FIGURINE WIRUGHIUHWRG. I was supposed to pick it up during Fan Expo, but yes, difficulties. Man, the box is huge! It’s sitting on my table at the moment, and I really want to open it and take a lot of pictures, but but but box pretty yeah don’t wanna open ugh first world problems. Hopefully this gorgeous figurine won’t trigger a new addiction @.@

With my figurine finally picked up, Andrew drove me back to my place. Got home at around 10:30pm because I had an early shift the next morning. I was really dreading working the next day because yeah. 3 days off, not in work mode.

No Game No Life + Canada Day Weekend

Feeling: Photobucket

Secondly, is this an anime post?! No way :O

Actually this is just going to be a few entries in one entry again. Haha, if that even makes sense. I had 3 days off from work, which was SUUPAH AWESOMUUUUU 8D! I’m so lame. My congee is on fire.

On Sunday, Dreamz and Jelee came over for more dance practice times! Super fun, and we perfected and figured out a lot of things. Even did a one shot of the Spring of Life dance without knowing it haha omg that was so terrible but hilarious. We also finalized one of our costumes for next Anime North OH HO HO HO 8D! Jelee’s going to be making all three dress bases for us, she’s so hardcore @.@ And all the details will be done individually I guess. I can’t wait to paint details on because I’m cheap like that 8D While we practised, Adrian updated my computer for me because I was still using the version of Linux from like…2010? 8D IF YOU’RE READING THIS YOU’RE SUCH A PRO HACKER/UPDATER. A thousand thanks!

Once we were all gross and sweaty from practice, the four of us went out for dinner at Go For Tea! Kendrick was kind enough to join us, and as always good noms were had =w= I actually ordered the wrong thing, but that’s my fault. Oh wells. Had lots of fun taking gangster pictures, and Kendrick even brought some of his home-made-egg-less cooking for taste-testing! Super yummy cakes ;w; Wow that was a lot of dashes. I stole 2 boxes 8D

THE NEXT DAY, which was Saturday, I had a date with my friend Julie ( :D Originally we were supposed to meet up at Fairview Mall and subway downtown together but then things happened and there was much confusion and last minute decision making, and in the end my mom dropped me off at Eaton’s and Julie met up with me 20 minutes later. We had a great time shopping around, and I managed to nab 2 Fluttershy plushies for $2 each 8D I KNOW, WHY DID I BUY 2?! I couldn’t resist the deal. There were actually a lot of great deals happening in the mall, and my wallet cried a lot. I also satisfied my mint chocolate ice cream craving. BUT I’M CRAVING IT NOW UGH KILL ME.

For lunch, Julie took me to a Japanese restaurant I’ve never been to before, and I forgot the name because it was too hot and humid that day it fried my brain. I ordered a yummy beef udon, and we shared takoyaki >w< We also had planned to go to an outdoor garden/green house thing, but it was wayyy to hot to do that, so we ventured back to Eaton’s and just spent the rest of the day wandering and enjoying the air conditioning 8D

For dinner, we ate at a restaurant on the upper floor of Eaton’s called Mr. Greenjeans. I ate there once previously with other wifeys and enjoyed my experience, so I thought I’d drag Julie along 8D It’s bigger than it looks, and I love the decor 8D Obviously we both went trigger happy with our cameras 8D We also both ordered pasta, and I had high expectations, but unfortunately it was way too oily. Our appetizer also came after our main, but it was super delicious! I forgot the name, but it was a yummy chips with dip of some sort. After we talked and chilled some more because we were super stuffed, we decided it was finally time to subway back to Fairview, where I was picked up my dad.

Still craving mint chocolate chip ice cream.

YESTERDAY, was CANADA DAY! And Andrew was nice enough to visit even though he knew it was going to be a boring day because nothing was open, and if it was, it would be packed with people (applies to malls and restaurants). Watched a little bit of the World Cup with my dad, and then we watched episodes 6 to 12 of No Game No Life. I had watched 1-5, but then realized my bandwidth was probably dying as I only get 25GB a month, so Andrew suggested he’d download the rest for me on his laptop for me to watch. And omg, it’s such a great anime! I am absolutely in love with the animation style! And the colours! Ughh don’t even get me started. The anime has fan service, but the plot and drawings made me overlook that. I am also really impressed with the voice acting :3 I don’t usually say that, but I’m saying it, so you know I’m serious! I even found my next cosplay! OH HO HO! It shall be interesting. But yes, if you haven’t watched it yet, I recommend it! I really hope there’s a second season!

Jelee and Adrian also paid me a visit at around 3 because I was having internet problems since my laptop was updated. It only took Adrian about 15 minutes to fix the problem, and I really need to treat them both to dinner one day! Many thanks again!

At around 7, Andrew and I went out for dinner with my parents and, yes, we had Japanese food! Hehehehe that was yummy. We originally wanted to go to our usual place (Inatei near Highway 7 and Leslie) but it was actually fully booked, so we went to Izakaya Tsuki, the same place where I had my awesome birthday dinner =w= The food was good, and it wasn’t mad packed, which I liked :) I really like their takoyaki! I’m craving it again ugh D: (but I don’t think takoyaki and mint chocolate ice cream is a good mix) Once dinner was done, it was back to my place! Andrew and I just sat and talked for a bit more and then he left at around 10:45pm.

It was definitely a nice 3 days off =w= Made up for the super busy day at work today =_= And now I shall look up pictures of my potential cosplays BAHAHAHA 8D!

The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug + Log Horizon

Currently listening to: —

Feeling: Photobucket

Oh man. I’m not even a week into the new year and this blob is already 82763823 days late. This shall be quite the long entry, it will cover a few events XD!

Oh wow I don’t even remember the days now. *flips through calendar* Woot, let us begin! *waves wand*

First off, Andrew came to visit me on the 1st! I really should remember this haha. I believe our main goal was to watch the second Hobbit movie! He arrived a little after 12:30 and then we spent a little while looking for a good movie theatre with ideal showing times. After deciding on an afternoon slot, Andrew introduced me to a new anime he’d been enjoying called Log Horizon. We watched I think 2 or 3 episodes, and I thought it was pretty neat! It definitely reminds me of Sword Art Online, but with more thinking/strategy oriented themes to the plot. Not the biggest fan of the character designs and I wish there were more fights, but it intrigued me enough that we watched a few more episodes after we came back from watching the second Hobbit movie.

Okay, so we arrived about 10 minutes before the movie was about to start and unfortunately, only 9 seats were available and they were not good seats, so we decided to buy tickets for the next show time at 3:50pm instead, which gave us a good 40 minutes to chill. We ended up nomming some pizza (didn’t taste very good). Skip skip skip.

I really enjoyed the second Hobbit movie. I was mentally preparing myself for a while because a few friends told me it was pretty scary, and don’t get me wrong, I was scared at a lot of parts, but not as scared as I expected myself to be. The scariest part for me was looking at the spiders. *shudders* Smaug was scary as well, but more of an intimidating kind of scary than a frightening kind of scary. The movie was also more comical for me than the first and easier to follow. The first one I was just…asking Andrew a lot of questions the whole time 8D Apparently a lot of things that happened in the movie do not exist in the book, like the relationship between Tauriel and Kili, or even the character Tauriel herself. I like her, though :D I thought she was pretty darn cool 8D Yeah, definitely excited for the finale to the trilogy.

After the movie, we went back to my house and watched a few more episodes of Log Horizon. We then wanted to go to Montana’s for dinner but didn’t realize they closed at 8pm DX! Instead we both got Subway haha! And then watched more Log Horizon ._.

ACK I JUST GOT DISTRACTED BY THE JAPANESE VERSION OF LET IT GO. And many other versions for that matter.

Right so. Fast forward to Saturday the 4th! I went to visit Andrew because I was free. My dad drove me to York and I was a little worried at first because the university was pretty much empty and the usual GO buses and TTC buses were non-existent. Luckily the bus did come, and I did make it to McMaster 8D I need to complain about stupid Presto. I loaded 80 friggen dollars onto my card weeks ago and for some reason I am negative 36 cents. I need to complain because I saw the transaction appear on my VISA statement, UGH. Anyway, Andrew picked me up 20 minutes later and then when we arrived at his house…yes we watched more episodes of Log Horizon. Oh dear. We actually caught up to the latest episode. Yes I had a bad headache afterwards haha, but worth it! Wish the main character was better looking :P I enjoy the short arcs, and hopefully it won’t turn lame in the middle like Sword Art Online. Not hating! I’m excited for the second season of SAO. Man, Log Horizon makes me miss Maple Story :c

Soon after, dinner was ready and hnggggg chicken and stuffing and peas and corn is such a great combination ;w; Craving it now actually. Didn’t get to do much after because Andrew needed to pack as he was heading back to Ottawa very early the next day. I had work also and we wanted to avoid the snow storm. I got back home a little before 9 and then after a small cup of water Andrew headed back to Hamilton. Not sure when we’ll be able to meet up next as his second semester is not too favourable for visits, and my minimum work hours increased to 25 per week. Busy busy busy for both of us, but we’ll manage!

Visiting Andrew

Feeling: Photobucket

Wow it’s 4pm. I woke up 2 hours ago. Not sure why I was so tired. I did visit Andrew yesterday. As usual my dad dropped me off at York and I took the GO bus to Mac. I met up with Sarah for a little bit at 2:30 where we had fun talking about life and the unsure future and how we both want to go to Japan and just go crazy. Christina joined us after her class, and after a brief talking about MJC’s MAID CAFE COMING UP ON NOVEMBER 22, Andrew found us and then we parted ways haha.

I dragged Andrew to Bridges because he had never eaten there before. It’s my favourite restaurant on campus, bonus points because it’s so homey and cozy inside. Back in first year Amy and I would go there a lot and eat their nomlicious lasagna with salad because it was literally 5 meters away from our residence haha XD! Andrew wasn’t sure what to order at first (Bridges is a vegetarian restaurant with some vegan selections) but after I made him try the lasagna I ordered he declared it was good so I got him that with some garlic bread :) OMG I JUST DID A WIKI SEARCH AND I JUST REALIZED LASAGNA IS SPELLED LASAGNE. GAH. Anyway.

After that we headed back to Andrew’s place to chill. Andrew was downloading Shrek for me to watch (apparently he claims he is running out of movie ideas) but I didn’t feel like watching a movie haha. In the end he showed me a new anime he was “testing out for me” called Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun. We watched 2 episodes and it was so random haha. I actually unknowingly saw a few GIFs of the anime on Tumblr so…yea, a few spoilers for me, but it was still cute 8D! Woot, new series to watch now. I’m also keeping up with Fairy Tail and Sword Art Online. If anyone has any good recommendations, do let me know XD! We ended the night with 2 Community episodes and then Andrew drove me home X3

I would also like to say a very Happy Birthday to my wonderful wifey, Michelle~ I hope you have a wonderful day ^^ I know I saw you briefly a few weeks ago and dragged you shopping but we haven’t hung out and just talked in so long :( Hopefully I’ll see you at MJC’s Maid Cafe XD!

Kimi ni Todoke

Currently listening to: Change the World – V6

Feeling: Photobucket

I finished watching the second season of Kimi ni Todoke today!

HOLY FRIGGEN SCREW WHY IS IT SO GOOD?! ARGGGGGGGGGGG! I don’t know what to do now. Wow. I feel so happy because it’s such a sweet anime and I loved the ending but I’m also sad because it’s over. OMG. OMG. OMG. *hyperventilates* It’s seriously the most “AWWWW >w<!!!” inducing anime I’ve seen in a while. If you’re like me who secretly likes heart-warming and sentimental things, you’re gonna enjoy it for sure. I’m most definitely going to watch the live action. AHHHHHHHHH WHY IS IT OVER. AHHHHHHHHH WHY IS IT SO AWESOME!? AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

Everyone should watch this. Holy screw.

Guys especially.

Hi, Andrew! I think you should watch Kimi ni Todoke with me =< As in beside me, watching it together.
